Chef Eric Aldis
Agave Rio Restaurant & Patio Oasis has a hometown culinary star at the helm in the kitchen. Executive Chef Eric Aldis, has been named one of Houston’s busiest chefs with a slew of successful restaurants under his direction. However, with his attention turned to his hometown, Agave Rio Restaurant and Patio Oasis is a project near and dear to this Katy Taylor alum’s heart.
Chef Aldis began his culinary career at the Four Seasons Hotel Houston, and has crisscrossed the country bringing his creative style to notable restaurants that include the Bellagio Las Vegas and the Ritz-Carlton New Orleans, and most recently in Houston at Midtown BBQ and Corner Table – to name just a few.
Growing up in Katy, the Aldis family moved around quite a bit to accommodate their growing family. Eric, one of six Aldis children, learned to love cooking from an early age. Coming from a big family Chef Aldis doesn’t remember a time when he wasn’t cooking, it was part of his chores. He’s always loved it and if he wasn’t out swimming in the rice well, fishing in the bayous, or playing ball, he was cooking.
“Being a part of Agave Rio is just an extension of that for me. Katy is home and its family. I have four kids and I know the challenges of going out to eat. I want Agave Rio to be that go-to family destination where you can have a great meal and a great time. A place where large groups of friends celebrate milestones and big wins. (I have to brag on my two KYF Turf Bowl wins.) We want to be part of those memories for Katy families.”
Agave Rio’s menu is continuously evolving with Chef Aldis’ creative combination of American and South American inspired cuisine ranging from seafood, salads, and classic American favorites – and a children’s menu sure to please even the picky eaters.
